Dodgers Lefty Putting Up Tremendous Statistics

The idea that statistics in sports can be misleading is sometimes true, but the 2014 season Los Angeles Dodgers lefthander Clayton Kershaw has put together statistically speaks volumes as to his consistency and domination of hitters. Kershaw has posted one of the most overpowering pitching performances in major league baseball history this year. Kershaw topped off his tremendous regular season last night by pitching the National League Western Division clinching victory against the rival San Francisco Giants. He did it in typical Kershaw fashion, allowing only one earned run in eight innings while striking out 11 and walking none. In fact, it was Kershaw’s eighth game of the year where he had at least nine strikeouts and no walks, tying a major league record. Continue reading
