Hey Joe Alleva, even though it may be tempting to send Johnny Jones packing after LSU’s recent three-game conference swoon, just go ahead and give the former Bengal basketballer the rest of the season. As painful as it is to watch Jones send out the nation’s top recruit and some other talented cagers with no direction game after game, why not give the Dale Brown protégé a few more games to firmly establish Jones’ legacy as possibly the worst coach to ever lead the Tigers. LSU In Danger Of Missing NCAA Tournament

LSU went down to the wire before losing to No. 1 Oklahoma Saturday at the PMAC. It was the Tigers’ eighth defeat of the season as the team continues to befuddle basketball experts with losing efforts. Tigers Have No Plan Or Direction At End Of Game

Home standing LSU played No. 1 Kentucky down to the final shot Tuesday night in a matchup reminiscent of legendary battles between the two schools. Keith Hornsby’s fall-away three pointer in the final seconds hit the backboard and glanced off the left side of the rim before being tapped out in a mid-lane scramble to end the 71-69 game, and preserve the Wildcats’ perfect season.
