College Football Playoff Rankings Causing Early Debates

The third College Football Playoff (CFP) standings are out and already second-guessers and naysayers are chopping away at the rankings, and the process by which this season’s national championship will be determined. The twelve-member selection committee ( College Hall of Fame quarterback Archie Manning took a leave of absence because of additional surgery needed after his recent knee replacement procedure) caused a stir with this week’s posting by moving once beaten Oregon into second place ahead of unbeaten and defending national champion Florida State, and pushing defenseless TCU into the fourth position over Alabama, Arizona State and Baylor, which defeated TCU earlier this year. Gurley Runs Like A Man

The inaugural College Football Playoff season kicked off last week with a lot of fanfare and anticipation. Starting this year, teams will be playing to ensure they are definitely in college football’s version of the Final Four come late December. Gone will be the unbecoming sports information campaigns to support certain teams and leagues, and coaches brazenly politicking for their own squads. Hopefully.
