The annual three-day National Football League (NFL) draft gets underway tonight in Philadelphia. Two hundred fifty-three names will be called before the event concludes Saturday afternoon. Thirty-two league franchises, each hoping to improve their team’s talent pool, will make choices to either correct a position deficiency, or select the best player available (according to their talent evaluations) at the time of their pick. Future Hall of Famer Wants to Finish in New Orleans

Drew Brees gave South Louisiana and Who Dat Nation something positive to think about Wednesday when he announced that he had signed a two-year contract extension for $44.5 million. The actual contract is for a five-year period, but the final three years of the deal will void. If the 37-year-old quarterback enjoys continued success during the 2016 season the Saints could revisit Brees’ contract and renegotiate before the 2017 season starts. Continue reading
